Planning an ocean trip should feel exciting, not confusing. Here are clear answers to the questions families and groups ask most before booking with KYS Outdoor Adventures.
Up to 6 passengers
Heated cabin & private restroom
Rods, tackle & bait included
Are children welcome on KYS Outdoor Adventures fishing charters?
Yes. Children of all ages are welcome aboard KYS Outdoor Adventures, and Capt. Lamont enjoys helping families create a comfortable first ocean-fishing experience. The 31-foot Safari has a heated cabin and private restroom, and every trip is alcohol-free and smoke-free.
How many people can fish on a La Push charter?
KYS Outdoor Adventures carries up to six passengers per trip. One or two guests may request seats on a shared trip, including public rockfish or group halibut. Capt. Lamont will work to add other anglers, but shared trips require at least three booked anglers to operate. The exception is a private halibut charter: one or two guests may reserve the entire boat at the full private-boat rate.
When do La Push fishing charters operate?
KYS Outdoor Adventures generally offers rockfish and lingcod trips from the second Saturday in March through the third Saturday in October. Halibut is usually available on select days in May and June, with additional days sometimes beginning again in August. All dates remain subject to current regulations and safe weather.
What time do KYS fishing charters leave?
The exact departure time is confirmed after Capt. Lamont reviews the trip type, tides, marine weather, and safe operating conditions. Guests may request morning, afternoon, or a custom departure, including very early or later starts when conditions and the trip allow.
Are group halibut trips available?
Yes. KYS Outdoor Adventures offers shared group halibut trips as well as private halibut charters. One or two guests may request shared halibut seats and may be combined with other anglers, but a shared trip requires at least three booked anglers to operate. One or two guests may instead reserve the entire halibut boat at the full private-boat rate. Halibut trips are all-day trips with a morning departure, and availability is limited to open season dates.
How does the KYS charter deposit work?
When you submit a request, PayPal verifies your card and places a temporary authorization for a 25% deposit. KYS Outdoor Adventures charges the deposit only after Capt. Lamont approves the trip; if the request is declined, the authorization is released.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least seven days before the scheduled trip to receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations made fewer than seven days before the trip forfeit the deposit. If KYS Outdoor Adventures cancels, the deposit is refunded.
What is included with a KYS fishing charter?
KYS Outdoor Adventures provides rods, tackle, and bait. Guests need a valid Washington fishing license and should bring suitable closed-toe footwear, weather-appropriate layers, food and drinks, and a cooler left in the vehicle for taking fish home after the trip.
Which KYS trip is best for my family or group?
Nearshore Rockfish runs 4 hours or limits and is the easiest starting point for many families and first-time ocean anglers. Offshore/Ext. Nearshore Rockfish and Lingcod runs 5 hours or limits and suits groups wanting a longer run and broader fishing opportunity. Halibut is available as either a shared group trip or a private charter; both are all-day trips with a morning departure. Capt. Lamont confirms the best fit for your group and current conditions.
